Book Review : Alienation

When books arrive here (which they do often) my oldest is always anxious to know when he will get to read it.

This book, Alienation by Jon S. Lewis, was no exception.

Instead of insisting I read it first, I let him go and he finished it the afternoon he started it!  Here is what he had to say about it:

I really liked it – it is a good book.

Q: What did you like about it?

A: There was a lot of action, and there were aliens living on Earth.

Q: Who was your favorite character and why?

A: Colt, the main character.  He was dealing with the death of his parents, and his Grandfather stepped up to be like a father.  His grandfather also instilled Colt’s faith in him.  Colt was injected with alien blood when he was six, and as a result has alien-like reflexes.

Q: What was your favorite part?

A: When Colt and his friends were in the Battle Simulator and he was battling the enemy.  It was tense because Colt could feel pain from injuries and he could have been killed while fighting.

Q: What inspired you about Colt?

He went to a military academy, when given the chance to flee danger he faced it, and his faith.

Q: Why would you recommend this book to someone else?

A: I think they would like it if they like action or suspenseful books.  There was a lot of shooting, and I think most boys would enjoy reading about that.  Especially kids interested in serving in the military.

  1. Hi! My name is Fran from Books&Beyond
& I am a new follower to your blog. We are both on this tour so I was reading what others thought (my post is Monday) I gotta say I truly enjoyed you & your sons review. Especially why he liked Colt. Very insightful your son is.
I love your blog! Your family is beautiful too. Bless you all.
Do you live on a farm? Is it a working farm? Do you have pets?
My dream is to live on a non working farm & take in healthy, spayed/neutered cats & dogs & have adoption fairs every weekend or month & keep the ones who are un-adoptable safe forever.
I know it sounds hard & it will be but I fell I can do it & God will bless us all.
    Sorry to ramble 🙂
    Have a beautiful weekend!
