Book Review : The Girl Behind the Red Rope

Ted Dekker and his daughter Rachelle Dekker have partnered together and created a story that will take you on a journey with an unknown destination : The Girl Behind the Red Rope.

As in FULL Dekker fashion this story with hold every bit of your attention and will be hard to put down. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, I loved certain characteristics from the start and struggled with others, which was the point. So many parallels in this book to real life in and out of the church. Once you get started you will not be able to walk away from finding out what the Fury really are, who Bobbie is, and what exactly happened to Grace and Jamie when they ventured beyond the red rope.

My favorite part though was the last 20 pages. This is where Ted & Rachelle both seem to double team you and really hit the main point/theme home. I do not want to spoil anything about this story or the ending, so please take my word for it that it is certainly worth your time and the read. The truth both of these authors want to deliver is a truth that is universal and today rare.

I loved the book, cannot wait for either of their next books!! I am a Dekker fan for life!!

NOTE : I received a copy of The Girl Behind the Red Rope in exchange for my honest review.

More about the book:

About

Ten years ago, Grace saw something that would forever change the course of history.

When a terrible scourge is unleashed on the world, she and others from their religious community are already hidden deep in the hills of Tennessee, abiding by every rule that will keep them safe, pure–and alive. As long as they stay there, behind the red rope.

Her older brother’s questions and the arrival of the first outsiders she’s seen in a decade set in motion events that will cause Grace to question everything she has built her life on. Enemies rise on all sides–but who is the real enemy? And what will it cost her to uncover the truth?

For the first time, bestselling authors Ted Dekker and Rachelle Dekker team up and deliver an intense, tightly focused ride through the most treacherous world of all.

In a world where the boundaries are clear and punishments severe, a young woman risks everything to break free from the system of fear and control to find freedom and love.
